SHAN TREK WITH HOME STAY/LOCAL MONESTARY II

Day 1: Pindaya – Taung Myint Gyi                                                                                                              (L, D)

Your trekking adventure begins this morning with a hike from Pindaya to Taung Myint Gyi. The 4.5 hour trek passes through  Htut Ni and Si Kya Inn Village.

This area is mainly inhabited by the Palaung hilltribe, animist people who are thought to be the earliest inhabitants of Myanmar. They still follow the same traditional lifestyle and earn a living by cultivating seasonal crops as well as growing the leaves used to produce the ubiquitous Burmese cigar and the cheroot.

There is plenty of opportunity to visit traditional villages on the way and interact with the local people, learning more about their customs and lifestyles.

In Taung Myint Gyi you will enjoy a freshly prepared dinner and spend the night in either a homestay or a village monastery. (Mattress, bed sheets and blanket will be provided. Accommodation is basic but it is a unique experience.)

Overnight in Taung Myint Gyi.

Day 2: Taung Myint Gyi – Mwe Daw                                                                                                         (B , L, D)

After breakfast, resume trekking to Mwe Daw village. (4.5 hrs trek)

Along the way you will pass through several hilltribe villages villages such as Myin Dwin, Ming Taing Pin, and Kyaung Soe Kone  which are inhabited by the Pa-O people.  The Pa-O are noted by their unique dress with the men and women donning long black pants and black shirts, the women wearing a colorful turban and large earrings.

Upon arrival, there is plenty of time to walk around the village and its surroundings, learning more about the local lifestyles.

Lunch at local village on the way (lunch box) and dinner is served in Mwe Daw village. spend the night in either a homestay or a village monastery.(Mattress, bed sheets and blanket will be provided. Accommodation is basic but it is a unique experience.)

Overnight in Mwe Daw Village.

(Trekking Time: 4.5 hours)

Day 3: Mwe Daw – Sedi Kone                                                                                                                      (B , L, D)

After breakfast, resume your journey to Sedi Kone village on a 5.5 hour trek. (5 ½ hrs trek)

Along the way, you will have an opportunity to visit local  villages and observe daily busy lifestyle of local people. Today’s trek is filled with panoramic scenes of the Shan Mountain Rages and surrounded by unspoiled natural beauty.

Dinner will be served in Sedi Kone and the evening spent in a monastery or local house (Mattress, bed sheets and blanket will be provided). Accommodation is basic but it is a unique experience.)

Overnight in Sedi Kone.

(Trekking Time: 5.5 hours)

Day 4: Sedi Kone – Ywar Daw – Aung Ban – Kalaw or Heho                                                          (B, L)

Before setting off on the day’s trek, spend some time walking around the village to observe the early morning farming activities. 

The final day of trekking is a light 1.5 hour trek to Ywar Daw village where a car is waiting to transfer you onwards to Kalaw or Heho.

Enjoy the lunch at local restaurant
